Press Releases

Colfax Fluid Handling today announced that all of the pumps produced by its Allweiler brand will meet the Ecodesign Directive ErP 2005/32/EC energy efficiency directive beginning January 1, 2015 – two years ahead of required compliance.

Colfax Fluid Handling, a business of Colfax Corporation (NYSE: CFX), has been selected to provide four high-performance, low-TCO MI-D centrifugal pumps to power a floating dry dock for STX Europe, a subsidiary of STX Corporation. Scheduled for completion in 2013, the new floating dry dock is designed to perform rapid ballast/de-ballast at widely varying pressure levels, often in challenging weather conditions.

Energy costs account for 85 per cent of the total cost of ownership for ballast and cooling pumps, demonstrating the importance of assessing total cost of ownership rather than basing purchasing decisions purely on initial cost. The concept is just as relevantly applied to upgrade decisions.

Colfax today announced the market entry of its new market unit Commercial Marine at Nor-Shipping, the world’s leading shipping exhibition. The market entry marks a major milestone for Colfax, giving the company a truly unified global footprint within the shipping industry. Colfax solutions help transport nearly 50% of all ocean freight and assist almost 700 navy ships in defence-related and humanitarian and disaster relief operations.

ALLWEILER, a leading marine pump brand within Colfax’s Commercial Marine unit, has expanded its product range with MI-D, a big centrifugal pump designed to optimize major ballast water and seawater cooling applications demanded by large vessels.

Colfax Fluid Handling has announced that leading Italian ferry operator, Moby Lines, has purchased 14 of its IMO Optiline magnetic coupling pumps. They will be used for heavy oil transfer in the engine rooms of a number of Moby Lines’ ferries on its routes to and from the Italian mainland to the islands of the Upper Tirrenian Sea.

The CM-1000 is an intelligent sea water cooling system controller designed to maximize shipboard pumping efficiency while lowering operating and maintenance costs and maximizing uptime.
